How to Clone a Vertex Standard VX-451 Two-Way Radio

Step #1 – Turn off both radios that you are working with.

*****Even though the instructions from Vertex Standard tell you to connect the CT27 Cloning cable at this stage DO NOT until Step #4*****

Step #2 – Using the radio that you would like to transmit the frequency from, press and hold the “Side 1” key and the “PTT” key at the same time while turning the radio ON. The LED will turn orange.

Step #3 – Repeat Step #3 with the second radio

Step#4 – Now, connect the Vertex Standard CT27 cloning cable to both radios by connecting it to the microphone / speaker jack.

Step #5 – Select the radio that you would like to receive the frequency and press the “Side 1” key. The LED will turn Green.

Step #6 – Next, select the radio that you would like to send the frequency from and press the “PTT” key. The LED will turn Red.

Step #7 – Wait until the LED light on both radios turns off. That indicates that the frequency has successfully been transmitted from one radio to another. The radios will now be able to communicate.
