How To Clone A Vertex Standard VX-231 Two-Way Radio
Vertex Standard VX-231 Two-Way Radio Cloning Procedure:
Step #1 – Make sure to turn off both radios you are working with.
Step#2 – Connect the Vertex Standard CT27 cloning cable to both radios by connecting it to the microphone / speaker jack.
Step #3 – Using the radio that you would like to transmit the frequency from, press and hold the “Side 1” key and the “PTT” key at the same time while turning the radio ON. The LED will quickly blink green and then go out.
Step #4 – Press the PTT button once, this will put the radio in “Clone” mode. The LED indicator will now glow “Orange”.
Step #5 – Using the radio that you would like to send the frequency to, press and hold the “Side 1” key and the “PTT” key at the same time while turning the radio ON. The LED will quickly blink green and then go out.
Step #6 – Press the “Side 1” key, the LED indicator will glow “Green”.
Step #7 – Take the radio that you would like to transmit from (the radio with the LED indicator that is a solid “Orange”) and press the “PTT” key. The LED indicator will glow “Red”. If the cloning is successful, the LED indicator will go out.
